What you'll actually be doing.

Why
STEP 01 / 09

Analog Synthesis.

AI can now summarise, draft, and generate faster than anyone in the room. That has quietly removed the pressure to do the hardest, most valuable part of thinking: taking a messy idea and working out, together, what actually matters.

This isn't fear of AI. Over half the world's education systems now restrict devices in class, and Norway already restricts generative tools for younger children — the reason given is cognitive shortcutting. Children who write things by hand retain them more deeply than children who type. Analog Synthesis protects and trains the one part of thinking a model cannot do for you.

Worth knowing
A document pack goes out to every participant one week before the session, so you can arrive prepared.
Listen
STEP 02 / 09

Hear it once.

The group is given a single idea — no right answer, nothing to guess. The task is to understand it fully, from every angle a real person would bring to it.

Everyone hears it presented once, together, with no notes distributed. Everyone starts from the same shared moment.

Break out
STEP 03 / 09

Five colours, one idea.

Small groups form. Each is handed the same idea, and five colour-coded card sets — one colour per lens.

Nobody works from a blank page. The lens tells you where to look before you've decided what you think.

Decompose
STEP 04 / 09

Write it out, by hand.

Working by hand, the group writes the idea's implications onto the cards, one lens at a time.

Forcing the idea open from angles a single person would naturally skip.

Converge
STEP 05 / 09

Find the one thing.

The group discusses what they've written and works, together, toward the one insight that matters most.

Not the loudest voice. The clearest thinking.

Present
STEP 06 / 09

Say it back.

Each group presents its synthesis back — first within the room, then group to group.

By the end of the day, the same idea has been heard through several different lenses.

Lenses
STEP 07 / 09

The five lenses.

  1. Heart & Human Relationships — connection, emotion, trust
  2. Health & Lifestyle — body and day-to-day wellbeing
  3. Society & Culture — community, identity, shared life
  4. Practical & Daily Life — how would this actually work, day to day
  5. Economy & Money — what does this cost, and what does it earn

We start with the heart, because that's where any good idea has to land. We end with money, because money should serve the idea — not the other way round.

Together
STEP 08 / 09

Why it works as a group.

In most meetings, someone argues from one lens while the rest of the room struggles to follow, because the lens itself was never made visible.

Analog Synthesis makes the lens explicit before the discussion starts. The result isn't a louder room — it's a room that finally understands why everyone was disagreeing in the first place.

Keep
STEP 09 / 09

What you leave with.

A transferable method — a repeatable way to take a team from scattered opinions to one clear, shared direction, usable at work the following Monday.

A certification — proof of participation, not a grade. And the first link in a longer record: one certificate shows the work was done once. A longer record shows it keeps being chosen.
